The Adidas Originals Tang Jacket CTT 3.1 SOFT FW24 Clay Red (China Exclusive) — referred to as burgundy by adidas Spain — is the jacket that started it all: the colorway of the original Autumn/Winter 2024 drop, the first in the CTT 3.1 line to be released on the Chinese market, and the one that sparked global demand before the international press discovered the trend in February 2026. Clay Red (a reddish-brown, between burgundy and terracotta) is the festive color for the 2025 Year of the Snake — deeper and earthier than pure red, with an elegance that makes it as festive as it is usable outside of a cultural context. CTT stands for Chinese Track Top, a reinterpretation of the tangzhuang (唐装) designed by the adidas team in Shanghai.
Design and Features
The Clay Red FW24 carries the most historical red of the entire collection: it was the first colorway, the one reported by CNN, the one appearing in the most shared TikTok videos. The burgundy-clay hue — with its earthy undertones distinguishing it from the pure red FW25 — makes it more versatile and easier to pair in everyday contexts. The mandarin collar, the three adidas stripes, and details inspired by pankou (盘扣) buttons are the design elements that connect this sports jacket to the heritage of the Qing Dynasty magua.
